Apple Kheer Recipe:As I said before, Kheer is a simple sweet that can be prepared anywhere in the country. My own culinary journey began with a simple recipe of semiya kheer and gulab jamun. To be honest, at that time I didn’t know many kheer recipes. However, if you have been reading my blog, you would have noticed that I have shared various types of kheer before. Following this tradition, I am going to share the recipe for premium apple kheer. The sweetness and bitterness of the apple make this dish beautiful. However, which apple to use is entirely up to you. In this recipe I have used the famous Pink Lady Apple.
However, I would like to supplement the Creamy Apple Kheer recipe with additional hints, tips and variations. For starters, I would recommend using whole milk for any kheer recipe, not just this one. If you want your kheer to taste milder, do not use skimmed or conditioned milk. Secondly, I have used only grated apple in this recipe, but you can also use other fruits if you want. Pears, nuts, banana pieces and even mango pieces are some examples. Last but not least, check that both the milk and apples are at room temperature before adding them. Since you add it to milk, you have to be careful, otherwise the milk might curdle.
Ingredients to make Apple Kheer:
1 red apple
1 teaspoon ghee
3 cups of whole milk
4-5 strands of saffron
1⁄4 cup condensed milk
¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
2 tablespoons nuts, chopped
Method to make apple kheer:
- To make apple kheer, we have to take a fresh and thick apple. You have to wash it and peel it. Now grate the apple with the help of a grater.
- Now we have to take a frying pan and put the grated apple in the pan. It is not necessary to heat the pan too quickly, otherwise the color of the apples will turn brown.
- Now we have to take 1 teaspoon of desi ghee with grated apple. Now you have to cook the apple over medium heat until it is cooked. Until the apple water dries completely.
- Now it must be cooled and set aside.
- Now we have to take a saucepan, add 3 cups of whole milk in it and add 4-5 strands of saffron and boil the milk well.
- When the milk boils well, add 1/4 cup of condensed milk and mix well.
- Cook the milk until it thickens well. If you have less time you can also add mawa to thicken it.
- Now we have to add 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder in the milk and mix it well and let it cool. Check if the milk is at room temperature or hot.
- If the milk has cooled, add the cooked and cooled apple to the milk and mix. Keep in mind that the temperature of both the apple and the milk should be the same as room temperature. Otherwise, the milk may curdle.
- Now we have to cover the kheer and keep it in the refrigerator to cool down. When the kheer cools down, take it out and decorate the apple kheer with dry fruits. Now your apple kheer is ready, enjoy it to the fullest and you can eat a kheer even on an empty stomach. Because along with energy, it is also fruitful.
